When I heard about Matt's Happiness Contest, I immediately thought that happiness should have something to do with freedom (from pain, suffering and otherwise).

Happiness is that moment almost child-like simplicity, where nothing else matters. Happiness is being able to live your life free from pain and agony, away from exploitation and harm. Knowing of the immense suffering of others means that happiness, for me, is freeing others from the pain inflicted upon them. We deprive others of the most basic things; daylight, air, food, water.. and instead replace them with pain. Looking at Ollie in this picture just reminds me of what makes all living creatures so happy - freedom. Seeing the their eyes fill with happiness as they realise they have their world back - that's simply amazing. My happiest and most incredible moments are seeing others free - and happy.
